  • 2 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pretzels
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 16 ounces Tru Whip or Cool Whip
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 6 ounces instant strawberry jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 quart fresh strawberries (hulled and sliced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Crush pretzels and mix with melted butter and 1/4 cup sugar in a food processor. Press into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking pan and bake for 10 minutes. Let cool completely.
  2. In a clean food processor, blend cream cheese with remaining sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping until combined, then spread over cooled pretzel crust.
  3. Boil water and mix in strawberry jello until dissolved. Stir in sliced strawberries and let cool slightly before pouring over the cream layer.
  4. Chill for at least two hours until set. Cut into squares to serve.
