Ingredients

  • Sourdough Bread
  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • Fresh Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • Dried Cranberries (unsweetened preferred)
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Generously butter one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer sharp cheddar cheese, thin apple slices, and dried cranberries. Top with another slice of cheese before closing with the second slice of bread.
  4. Grill the sandwich butter-side down until golden brown (about 3-4 minutes). Carefully flip and grill the other side until both sides are crispy and the cheese is melted (another 3 minutes).
  5. Let it sit for one minute, then slice diagonally and serve hot.
