Method
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Add diced onion and cook until softened. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat.
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter and minced garlic.
- Slice loaf in half horizontally and hollow out a bit of the inside.
- Brush inside of the bread with garlic butter mixture.
- Fill with beef and onion mixture.
- Top evenly with mozzarella and provolone cheese.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is golden.
- Let cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
