Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Essential for the cookie base.
  • 1 tsp baking powder Helps the cookies rise and remain soft.
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon Adds that warm, comforting flavor.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar Provides sweetness and moisture.
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup Infuses the cookies with a rich sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened) Ensures a chewy texture.
  • 2 large eggs Binds all ingredients together perfectly.

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, thoroughly mixing after each addition before stirring in the maple syrup.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined. Gradually incorporate this dry mixture into your wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets about two inches apart from each other. Bake them in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges turn lightly golden while keeping a soft center.
  6. Once baked, allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for five minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
