  • 6 cups day-old bread cubed
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
  • 0.5 cup dried cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • Maple syrup or caramel sauce for drizzling (optional)

Method
 

  1. Cube the day-old bread into bite-sized pieces. Toast if needed.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the bread cubes to the custard mixture and stir to coat. Let soak for 20 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a baking dish.
  5. Pour the soaked bread mixture into the dish. Top with cranberries and pecans.
