Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour plus extra for dusting
  • 1 cup warm water about 110°F
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar to activate yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil plus more for drizzling
Topping
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground

Method

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a greased baking sheet.
  3. Stretch the dough to fit the baking sheet, creating dimples with your fingers.
  4. In a small bowl, mix minced garlic, oregano, black pepper, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Spread this mixture over the dough.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese and sea salt.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
