  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter softened

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar for dusting towel and top

Method
 

Baking
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a 10×15-inch jelly roll pan with parchment paper. Grease well.
  2. Lay out a clean kitchen towel and dust it with powdered sugar.
  3. In a bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in pumpkin puree.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  5. Gradually stir dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture until just combined.
  6. Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 13–15 minutes.
  7. Immediately turn hot cake onto the prepared towel. Peel off parchment and roll the cake with the towel. Let cool.
Filling Preparation
  1. Beat cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until smooth. Add powdered sugar and beat until fluffy.
  2. Carefully unroll the cooled cake. Spread the filling evenly and re-roll without the towel.
  3. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.
