  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley optional
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream optional
  • 1 tablespoon shredded cheese optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a ramekin with butter or olive oil.
  2. Crack 1–2 eggs into the ramekin, being careful not to break the yolk.
  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the eggs.
  4. Add cream, cheese, or herbs if desired.
  5. Place ramekin in a baking dish. Add hot water to the dish until halfway up the ramekin.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes for soft yolks or up to 18 minutes for firmer eggs.
  7. Remove from the oven, garnish with herbs, and serve hot.
