Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Prepared according to package instructions.
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter For a rich and smooth filling.
  • 8 oz cream cheese Softened to enhance the creaminess.
  • 2 cups powdered sugar To sweeten the filling perfectly.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Essential for making the ganache.
  • 8 oz dark chocolate Chopped for a decadent topping.
  • ½ cup crushed peanuts For crunch and garnish.
  • chocolate bars or peanut butter cups Optional, to elevate your cake’s presentation.

Method

  1. Bake the chocolate cake according to the instructions on the box using two 8-inch round cake pans. Allow the cakes to cool completely on wire racks before assembling.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Gradually add in the creamy peanut butter and powdered sugar, mixing well until fully combined.
  3. Place one cooled cake layer on a serving plate and spread a generous amount of peanut butter filling over it. Carefully add the second layer on top, creating a beautiful two-tiered masterpiece.
  4. In a saucepan, heat heavy cream just until it begins to simmer, then pour it over chopped dark chocolate in a separate bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes before stirring until smooth and glossy.
  5. Generously pour the ganache over the top of your assembled cake, allowing it to drip down the sides for an elegant finish. Use a spatula to smooth out any uneven areas.
  6. Sprinkle crushed peanuts over the top for added texture and flavor, and if desired, decorate with chocolate bars or peanut butter cups. Chill your creation for at least 1 hour before slicing into perfect pieces to serve!
