  • 2 cups chocolate cake cubes baked and cooled
  • 1 ½ cups cherry pie filling
  • 1 ¾ cups whipped cream prepared
  • ¼ cup dark chocolate shavings
  • 8 pieces fresh cherries optional, for topping
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts optional

Method
 

  1. Bake and cool the chocolate cake completely. Cut into small cubes.
  2. In a chilled bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  3. Begin layering: start with chocolate cake cubes at the bottom of a trifle dish or glass cups.
  4. Spoon over cherry pie filling generously.
  5. Add a layer of whipped cream.
  6. Sprinkle with chocolate shavings and walnuts.
  7. Repeat layers until the dish is filled.
  8. Top with more whipped cream, chocolate curls, and fresh cherries.
  9. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
  10. Serve cold and enjoy every decadent spoonful.
