Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Take out your unsalted butter from the refrigerator to come to room temperature for about 20-30 minutes. Gather all your other ingredients and equipment.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, ground cloves, ground cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until well mixed.
  4. Cream together unsalted butter, white sugar, and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add egg, maple syrup, and pumpkin puree into the creamed mixture. Mix until well combined.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients while mixing on low speed until just combined. Fold in chopped pecans and scoop onto a cookie sheet. Bake for 13-15 minutes until lightly golden.
